FAQ
Common questions.
if your question isn't answered here, get in touch. We're happy to have a straightforward conversation.
What types of businesses do you work with?
We work with owner-operated manufacturing and warehousing businesses. Typically companies where the owner is still hands-on in the day-to-day operations and needs practical help aligning their systems and processes with how the business actually runs.
What size businesses do you work with?
We specialize in owner-operated manufacturing and warehousing businesses $3M-$20M in turnover where the owner or a key director is still personally involved in day-to-day operations and wants to step back to focus on growth. If your time is worth more selling than troubleshooting your systems, we're a good fit.
How is GSD different from a traditional consulting firm?
We don't deliver slide decks and walk away. We get into the detail, spending time on your floor, working alongside your team, and staying until the changes stick. We're hands-on, practical, and focused on results you can see, not reports you'll file away.
What does a typical engagement look like?
Every engagement is different, but the pattern is similar. We start by understanding how your business actually operates, not how the manual says it should. Then we diagnose the gaps between your systems and your reality. We fix those gaps with practical changes, and we stay to coach your team through the transition. Engagements typically run from a few weeks to a few months depending on scope.
Where are you based? Do you work remotely?
We're based in Australia. For the initial assessment and hands-on work, we prefer to be on-site, you can't understand a warehouse operation from a video call. Once the foundation is set, some follow-up work can be done remotely.
Can you work with our existing ERP or warehouse system?
Yes. We're system-agnostic. We've worked with a wide range of ERP, WMS, and production systems. The principles of good process design and system alignment are the same regardless of the software.
Do you replace our existing systems?
Rarely. Most of the time, the system you have is capable, it's just not configured to match how your business works. We reconfigure, clean up, and align what you already have. If a system genuinely isn't fit for purpose, we'll tell you, but that's the exception, not the rule.
How much does it cost?
Do you offer ongoing support after the engagement?
Yes. Some clients engage us as their systems managers, in lieu of hiring a full-time person. We work with your MSPs and software partners to make sure changes, updates, and improvements are run with business goals and operational results in mind. This gives you experienced systems leadership on a flexible basis, without carrying a full-time headcount.

How do we get started?
Start with a conversation. No sales pitch, no obligation. Tell us what's going on in your business, and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help. If it's a fit, we'll put together a clear proposal. If it's not, we'll point you in the right direction.
